Women's Track And Field Completes Day One Of ECAC Championship
BOSTON, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's track and field team took part in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championship on Saturday in Boston. The 4x800 meter relay team comprised of junior Kathleen Brekka (Hubbardston, Mass.), junior Brittany Gorski (Tewksbury, Mass.), junior Sarah Meinelt (Topsfield, Mass.) and senior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) led the way for the Crusaders finishing first overall in the preliminary heats with a time of 9:00.15 and qualied for tomorrow's final heat.
Other Holy Cross athletes who competed on Saturday included senior Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) who finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles preliminary heat with a time of 8.88 and Hartnett who finished fourth in the 800 meter preliminary heat with a time of 2:12.96.
The ECAC Championship continues tomorrow, Sunday, March 4. The 4x800 meter relay team will compete in the final and senior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) will compete in the weight throw. Competition is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
