Women's Track & Field Set For Valentine Invitational

- The Holy Cross indoor women's track and field team will travel to Boston University on Friday, Feb. 10 to compete in the Valentine Invitational. Last season, the 4x400 meter relay team comprised of sophomore Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.), junior Brittany Gorski (Tewksbury, Mass.), graduate Cassandra Anderson and senior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) recorded the team's top finish of the meet, placing 10th with a time of 3:56.60.
- Other notable finishes at the 2011 meet included senior Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) who placed 16th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.26 seconds, junior Kelcey Germain (Auburn, Mass.) who placed 11th in the weight throw with a distance of 13.98 meters, senior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) who placed 15th in the shot put with a distance of 11.65 meters and junior Sarah Meinelt (Topsfield, Mass.) who finished 14th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.98 meters.
- The Crusaders traveled to Orono, Maine to take on the Maine Black Bears in an open meet last weekend and came home with a 91-86 victory. Holy Cross took first in nine events including Hartnett in the one mile run and 1,000 meter run, Gorski and Okpoebo in the 500 meter run and 200 meter dash, senior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) in the 3,000 meter run, senior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) in the shot put and weight throw and the 4x400 and 4x880 relays.
