Women's Track & Field Set To Take On Maine

  • The Holy Cross indoor women's track and field team will travel to Orono, Maine on Saturday, Feb. 4 to compete against the host squad, Maine. Last season, the Crusaders fell to the Black Bears by just eight points, 90-82. Despite the loss, Holy Cross took first place in nine total events, including six track events and three field events.
  • Notable finishes at the 2011 meet include junior Catherine Cafaro (Garden City, N.Y.) and sophomore Lauren Bellerose (Shrewsbury, Mass.) going one-two in the 400 meter dash. Junior Brittany Gorski (Tewksbury, Mass.) won the 500 meter dash, sophomore Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) won the 200 meter dash, and sophomore Allie Hunter (Medfield, Mass.) finished first in the 3,000 meter run.
  • The Crusaders traveled to the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass. on Friday, Jan. 27 to compete in the Joe Donahue Indoor Games, finishing fifth of 14. Okpoebo led the way for the Crusaders tying her school record of 7.24 seconds in the 55 meter dash. Okpoebo also finished in the top spot in the 200 meter dash and has earned AT&T Crusader of the Week honors.
