WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., along with head women's coach Egetta Alfonso have announced the 2011-2012 women's indoor and outdoor track and field schedule. The Crusaders are set to kick off indoor competition on Dec. 3 at the Alden Invitational.
On Dec. 9, select members of the team will compete at the Rhode Island Pentathlon. Holy Cross will also compete at the Harvard Open (Dec. 10) and the Boston University Mini Series (Dec. 17, Dec. 24, Dec. 31) before winter break. The Crusaders will resume competition in the New Year when they travel to the Sorlien Memorial Invitational (Jan. 13) and the Yale Invitational (Jan. 14). The women will close out the month of January with a dual meet at New Hampshire (Jan. 21) and the Boston Indoor Games (Jan. 27).
The Crusaders start February with a dual meet at Maine (Feb. 4), followed by the Valentine Invitational (Feb. 10) and the Patriot League Indoor Championship (Feb. 17-19). The month ends at the New England Indoor Championship (Feb. 24-25). Qualifying members of the team will compete at the ECAC Indoor Championship (March 3-4) in Boston, Mass.
Holy Cross kicks off outdoor competition at the Husky Spring Open (March 17) hosted by Northeastern University. The Crusaders will compete at the RPI Invitational (March 24), and will then travel to UNH (April 7). The women will compete at the UMass Invitational (April 14) before hosting their annual heptathlon/decathlon meet at the Hart Center Track (April 18-19). The team will welcome AIC, Central Connecticut, Hartford, Maine and Stonehill to the Hart Track (April 21), and will finish the regular season at the Brown Springtime Open (April 29).
The Crusaders will host the Patriot League Outdoor Championship (May 5-6) at the Hart Center Track, and qualifying members of the team will close out the season when they travel to the New England Outdoor Championship (May 11-12).
