Women’s Track & Field Names 33 To Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. – Thirty three members of the Holy Cross women's track and field team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office. Seniors Allison Fimognari (Wilbraham, Mass.), Megan McCormick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.) were named to the honor roll for the fourth consecutive time. Fimognari and McCormick led the team with 3.93 grade point averages in their final semester at Holy Cross.
Senior Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.), along with juniors Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.), Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.), Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) and Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) earned a spot on the honor roll for the third time. Seniors Cassandra Anderson (Saugus, Mass.) and Rose Calvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) were named to the list for the second time, as were juniors Jennifer Bautista (St.John's, Newfoundland) and Kara Brownell (Cherry Valley, Mass.) and sophomores Kelsey Gardner (Malverne, N.Y.), Lizzie Harkins (Latrobe, Pa.) and Mary Zabinski (Latham, N.Y.).
Earning the honor for the first time in their careers was seniors Kathleen Kasper (Worcester, Mass.) and Martha Quinn (Frankfurt, Germany), juniors Libby Malloy (Stratford, Conn.) and Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.), sophomores Sarah Meinelt (Topsfield, Mass.) and Katie Rochford (Red Bank, N.J.) and freshmen Lauren Bellerose (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Liz Crowley (Southborough, Mass.), Sammy DeCoste (Hingham, Mass.), Eileen Ford (Skaneateles, N.Y.), Beth Fullerton (Bradford, Mass.), Mary Fullerton (Bradford, Mass.), Hannah Hodsden (Milton, Mass.), Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.), Allie Hunter (Medfield, Mass.), Abigail Hynes-Houston (Harwich, Mass.), Alisha Thompson (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and Vicki Tiedemann (Bay Shore, N.Y.).
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a winter or spring sport student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester. Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 58 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll, while Holy Cross had 33 and Lehigh 27. Navy (22), Colgate (19), Lafayette (17) and American (13) all followed. All eight institutions recorded double-digit honorees for the second consecutive year.
