Katelyn Hartnett Named To Track & Field Academic All-Patriot League Team
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) has earned one of 10 spots on the inaugural women's outdoor track and field Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by the Patriot League's track and field sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. The Academic All-Patriot League team was added for all sports beginning in the 2010-11 season to honor additional student-athletes who excel both on and off the field. Hartnett was also named to the women's indoor track and field Academic All-Patriot League team earlier this year.
Hartnett, an Economics and Accounting major, holds a 3.51 cumulative grade point average. She is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. At the 2011 Patriot League Outdoor Championship, Hartnett finished second in the 800, re-breaking her school record with a time of a time of 2:09.33, shattering her previous school record of 2:11.28, set just weeks earlier at the Holy Cross home meet. Hartnett also earned All-Patriot League first team honors with a first place finish and ECAC Championship qualifying time of 8:58.41 as a member of the 4x800 relay team.
Harnett and qualifying members of the women's track & field team will wrap up the 2011 season at the New England Outdoor Championship on May 13-14 in New Haven, Conn.
