Crusaders Ready For Rensselaer Invitational

- The Holy Cross women's track and field team will continue its 2011 outdoor season at Rensselaer Invitational, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Harkness Track & Field in Troy, N.Y. on March 26.
- Last year at the Rensselaer Invitational, the Crusaders scored six first place finishes. Leading the Crusaders was junior Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.76 seconds, sophomore Melanie Forte (Milford, N.H.) in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.29 seconds and senior Cassandra Anderson (Saugus, Mass.) in the 800 with a time of 2:22.07.
- Last weekend, the Crusaders kicked off their outdoor season at the Husky Invitational in Dedham, Mass. Linnehan finished first in the 100 hurdles with a New England Championship qualifying time of 15.92 seconds. On the field, junior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) led the Crusaders with three top five finishes. Notably, Culkeen threw a personal-best in the hammer throw, finishing fifth with a distance of 43.69 meters.
