Crusaders Set For ECAC Indoor Championship

  • The Crusaders will wrap up their indoor season at the ECAC Indoor Championship in Boston, Mass., March 5-6 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.
  • Last year at the 2010 ECAC Indoor Championship, junior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) and junior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) along with 2010 graduate Tiffany Reid competed in individual events to represent the Crusaders. This year, in addition to Hartnett, senior Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.) and sophomore Kathleen Brekka (Hubbardston, Mass.) will also run for the Crusaders. Brekka will compete in the 1,000, while Hartnett and Burgess will compete in the 800. Additionally, Holy Cross will enter a 4x800 relay team.
  • Last weekend at the New England Championship, Hartnett finished third in the 1,000 with a school record time of 2:51.50 to lead the Holy Cross women's track and field team to a 14th place finish at the New England Indoor Championship. Many Crusaders ran season and personal bests, scoring points for the team. Junior Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.) finished sixth in the 5,000 recording a personal-best time of 17:45.36. Burgess also posted a personal-best time in the 800 running a time of 2:13.64 and finishing seventh. Freshman Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.) placed 14th in the 3,000 with a season-best time of 10:27.02.
