Crusaders Set For Valentine Invitational

  • The Holy Cross women's track and field team returns to team competition at the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University on Friday, Feb. 11. Competition will occur at the Track and Tennis Athletic Center in Boston starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • Last season at the Valentine Invitational, junior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) took 12th in the 5,000 with a time of 17:37.85, a personal-best and team-best time. In the field events, the Crusaders were led by an eighth place performance in the shot put by junior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) with a distance of 12.15 meters.
  • Last weekend at Maine, junior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) placed first in the 1,000 with a time of 2:56.28, missing the ECAC qualifying mark by .04 seconds. Junior Katelyn Andree (Colts Neck, N.J.) finished second in the 3,000 with a personal-best time of 11:30.32.
  • Several Crusaders also recorded personal-best performances in Maine. Junior Jennifer Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) recorded a personal-best in the 55, with a time of 7.94 seconds, while Junior Kara Brownell (Cherry Valley, Mass.) posted a personal-best in the 500. Sophomore Lizzie Harkins (Latrobe, Pa.) also ran a personal-best in the mile, posting a time of 5:18.97.
