BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) took ninth in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put to lead the Holy Cross track and field teams at the Boston Indoor Games on Friday, Jan. 28 in Boston, Mass. The men's track and field team finished 17th out of 17 teams, while the women's team finished 11th out of 17 teams.
The men's team was led by senior Brendan Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) with a 10th place finish in the one mile with a time of 4:17.17, qualifying him for the New England Indoor Championship. Junior Stephen Madsen (New Providence, N.J.) finished 10th in the 800 with a time of 1:56.62
Junior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) placed fourth in the one mile with an ECAC qualifying time of 4:57.82 while sophomore Kathleen Brekka (Hubbardston, Mass.) finished eighth in the 1,000 with a time of 2:59.16. Junior Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) finished eighth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.49 seconds. Culkeen placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.57 meters and fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.22 meters.
Holy Cross will race at Maine on Feb. 5 starting at 9:00 a.m.
