Crusaders Set To Compete At Field Day & Crowell Open

  • The Holy Cross women's track and field team continues action over the winter break when it hosts the Holy Cross New Year's Field Day on Tuesday, Jan. 4 and travels to the Crowell Open on Saturday, Jan. 8. Team competition will resume at the Yale Invitational on Jan. 15.
  • Over the winter break, members of the team ran at the Boston University Mini Meets on Dec. 18, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Junior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) led the team with a time of 4:59.70 in the one mile on Dec. 26, freshman Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) ran team-best times in the 400 (1:01.30, Dec. 26) and the 200 (26.40, Dec. 26), sophomore Melanie Forte (Milford, N.H.) finished with a time of 8.16 seconds in the 60 on Dec. 18 and sophomore Kathleen Brekka (Hubbardston, Mass.) led the team with a time of 2:20.38 in the 800 on Jan. 2.
  • Both Okpoebo's time in the 400 and Hartnett's time in the one mile were personal-best and team-best times. Hartnett improved her time in the one mile by nine seconds, while Okpoebo marked a team-best time in her first ever collegiate race in the 400.
