Women’s Track & Field Places 28 On Academic Honor Roll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's track and field team named 28 student-athletes to the 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office. Being selected all four years are seniors Chantal Couture (Taunton, Mass.), Claire Luke (Delmar, N.Y.), Caitlin Murphy (Hudson, Mass.) and Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.).

Senior distance runner Margaret Fox (Natick, Mass.) was placed on the honor roll for the third time, along with juniors Allison Fimognari (Wilbraham, Mass.), Megan McCormick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.).  

Receiving the award for the second time are seniors Sarah Croteau (Westminster, Mass.), Meghan Dunne (Mendham, N.J.), Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.), junior Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.) and sophomores Jillian Crowley (Boxborough, Mass.), Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.), Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.), Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.), Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) and Alison Nadeau (Norfolk, Mass.).

First time selections to the honor roll are seniors Ariana Coniglio (Revere, Mass.) and Carrie Kinsella (Guilford, Conn.), sophomores Katelyn Andree (Colts Neck, N.J.), Jennifer Bautista (St. John’s, Newfoundland) and Kara Brownell (Cherry Valley, Mass.), and freshmen Kathleen Brukka (Hubbardston, Mass.), Kelsey Gardner (Malverne, N.Y.), Lizzie Harkins (Latrobe, Pa.), Bridget Straub (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Mary Zabinski (Latham, N.Y.).

Nearly 200 women's track and field student-athletes were named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as each school tallied double-digit recipients and the eight teams combined for 195 honorees overall. Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 55 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Lehigh and Holy Cross added 28 to the list while Lafayette tallied 27 Honor Roll selections. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
