Womens Track and Field Kicks Off Patriot League Action In The Pentathlon
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) placed fourth in the pentathlon to lead the Holy Cross women's track and field team in the first day of Patriot League Championship action on Friday. Pruszko placed fourth with 3,231 points while Bucknell's Amy Mantush took first with 3,449 points and junior Ashley Buckley (Duxbury, Mass.) finished 10th with 2,775 points.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Pruszko finished in eighth place with a time of 9.76 seconds and Buckley finished 10th with a time of 10.11 seconds. Buckley and Pruszko tied for sixth in the high jump, both clearing a height of 1.56 meters. In the shot put, Pruszko took seventh with a distance of 9.38 meters and Buckley finished 13th with a distance of 7.58 meters. In the final field event, the long jump, Pruszko finished sixth with a distance of 4.91 meters, while Buckley took 11th with a distance of 4.34 meters. Pruszko finished off competition with a first place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:24.77 and Buckley took fourth with a time of 2:34.81.
The Crusaders currently stand in fourth place with four points, while Bucknell has the lead with 10. Holy Cross will continue action at the Patriot League Championship tomorrow starting at 8:45 a.m.
