BOSTON, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's track and field team hit the track in Boston, Mass. for the Valentine Invitational Friday night as it prepares for next week's Patriot League Championship in West Point, N.Y. The Crusaders fine tuned their performances in preparation of upcoming Championship season.
On the track, senior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) led the Crusaders with a sixth place finish in the 500 with a time of 1:17.47. Pruszko finished with her fastest time of the season. Sophomore Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) took 12th in the 5,000 with a time of 17:37.85, a personal-best and team-best time.
In the field events, the Crusaders were led by an eighth place performance in the shot put by sophomore Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) with a distance of 12.15 meters. Senior Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) was the top Crusader in the weight throw, finishing in 11th place with a distance of 14.26 meters.
The Crusaders kick off the Championship season next week at the Patriot League Indoor Championship in West Point, N.Y. on Feb. 19-21.
