Holy Cross Set For Valentine Invitational

  • The Holy Cross women's track and field team will travel to the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University on Friday, Feb. 12 at 1:00 p.m. This will be the Crusaders' final regular season meet before the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 19-21 in West Point, N.Y.
  • At last year's Valentine Invitational, senior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) placed ninth in the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters and in the shot put sophomore Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) finished 14th with a throw of 12.02 meters, while sophomore Cassie Canastra (Rochester, Mass.) came in 19th with a distance of 11.37 meters.
  • Senior Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) had a team-best and season-best distance of 15.25 meters in the weight throw at last week's Maine Open. Amaral finished first in the weight throw, while Culkeen took first in the shot put with a distance of 11.96 meters.
  • On the track, sophomore Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) ran a season-best time of 10:01.13 in the 3,000. Sutherland's time was just under three seconds off the ECAC qualifying standard (9:58.94) and is the second fastest 3,000 time in the Patriot League this season.
