Crusaders Set To Race At Sorlien Memorial Invitational

  • The Holy Cross women's track and field team continues competition at the Sorlien Memorial Invitational in Kingston, R.I. on Friday, Jan. 15.  
  • Last weekend at the Yale Invitational, multiple members of the Holy Cross women's track and field team finished with season-best and team-best performances. Junior Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.) ran a team-best time of 10:58.88 in the 3,000, senior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) finished with a team-best height of 1.55 meters in the high jump and both the 4x800 relay team and distance medley team finished with season-best times. The 4x800, ran by junior Cassandra Anderson (Saugus, Mass.), sophomore Alison Nadeau (Norfolk, Mass.), Pruszko and sophomore Kara Bownell (Cherry Valley, Mass.), finished with a time of 9:52.12, while the distance medley, ran by junior Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.), freshman Kathleen Brekka(Hubbardston, Mass.) and sophomores Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) and Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.), finished with a time of 12:39.62.
  • While most Crusaders competed at the Yale Invitational, some members of the team raced at the Crowell Invitational in West Point, N.Y. Leading the Crusaders with season-best times were senior M. Siobhan Straub (Mattituck, N.Y) with a time of 8.38 seconds in the 60 and 27.83 in the 200, senior Sarah Croteau (Westminster, Mass.) with a time of 18:52.14 in the 5,000 and sophomore Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) with a distance of 12.03 meters in the shot put and 14.41 meters in the weight throw.
