HC Women's Tennis To Host Assumption On Oct. 18

The Holy Cross women's tennis team had a very successful week, as it went 2-0, defeating Hartford (6-1) and Stonehill (4-3), while it also placed fourth out of eight teams at the New England Championship. The Crusaders will conclude the fall season when they host Assumption on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2:00 p.m.
Freshman Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.) placed second at No. 6 singles at the New England Championship. She was named the AT&T Crusader of the Week as she had a 4-1 record in singles and 3-2 mark in doubles for the week. Chandley has had an impressive start to her collegiate career this fall as she has gone 8-2 in singles match and 6-4 in doubles matches with her partner freshman Emily Marr (Holden, Mass.).
Senior Paige Brown (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior Kathryn Wilkie (Oak Brook, Ill.) finished in third place for the Crusaders at the New England Championship at No. 3 doubles and improved to 4-3 this year.
Junior Ivette Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) has gone 6-2 in singles matches this fall, while Marr and junior Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) are 6-4.
