HC Women's Tennis To Host Assumption On Oct. 18

  • The Holy Cross women's tennis team had a very successful week, as it went 2-0, defeating Hartford (6-1) and Stonehill (4-3), while it also placed fourth out of eight teams at the New England Championship. The Crusaders will conclude the fall season when they host Assumption on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2:00 p.m.

  • Freshman Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.) placed second at No. 6 singles at the New England Championship. She was named the AT&T Crusader of the Week as she had a 4-1 record in singles and 3-2 mark in doubles for the week. Chandley has had an impressive start to her collegiate career this fall as she has gone 8-2 in singles match and 6-4 in doubles matches with her partner freshman Emily Marr (Holden, Mass.).

  • Senior Paige Brown (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior Kathryn Wilkie (Oak Brook, Ill.) finished in third place for the Crusaders at the New England Championship at No. 3 doubles and improved to 4-3 this year.

  • Junior Ivette Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) has gone 6-2 in singles matches this fall, while Marr and junior Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) are 6-4.
