WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., and head coach Mike Lucas have announced the 2006 fall schedule for the Crusader men's and women's tennis teams. The men's team is scheduled to take part in 10 matches and tournaments this fall, while the women's squad will be in action seven times.
The Crusaders open the season at the Fairfield Doubles Festival, with the women playing on Sept. 9 and the men on Sept. 10. Following home matches against Merrimack for both teams on Sept. 16, the men will take part in the Wheaton Invitational (Sept. 17) and a home match against Hartford (Sept. 19). Both teams will then play host to Siena on Sept. 23, before hitting the road to face Springfield College on Sept. 24.
The women's team returns to the court to play host to Hartford on Sept. 26, while the men hit the road for the Connecticut Invitational (Sept. 29-30) and the Stonehill Invitational (Oct. 7-8). The final home matches of the fall come against Rhode Island, with the women playing on Oct. 10 and the men on Oct. 11. The women's squad concludes the fall season at the New England Championship (Oct. 14-15) in Fairfield, Conn., while the men will wrap up the fall at the Quinnipiac Invitational (Oct. 14-15).
