WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior captain women's tennis player Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) has earned second team All-Patriot League honors. She is only the second ever Holy Cross women's tennis player to earn All-Patriot League accolades as Stefanie Raymond earned 1995 first team honors and 1993 second team accolades.
Meahl, who played all of her matches at No. 1 singles, had a 14-12 overall record and a 9-9 dual-match record. Her 14 wins tied for the team-lead. She also had a 10-14 overall record at doubles and an 8-10 dual-match record at No. 1 doubles. She won the No. 1 singles match and the No. 1 doubles match versus Patriot League opponent Lafayette as the Crusaders won the match, 4-3. At the Siena Invitational she won co-sportsmanship honors. Meahl has a 32-33 overall singles record for her career and a 32-38 doubles record. She is also a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
The Crusaders went 10-8 overall as this was the seventh time over the last 10 years that Holy Cross had at least a .500 record and was the fifth winning season. Over the last 10 years with Mike Lucas as coach his teams are 101-76.
