Women's Tennis Loses to Fairfield, 5-1

Stamford, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team dropped their first match of the season to Fairfield, 5-1 at the Stamford Indoor Tennis Facility in Stamford, Conn. on Saturday. Freshman Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) won her match, providing the lone win for the Crusaders on the day. Meahl defeated the Stag's Alexis Accomando, 6-3, 6-3 in No. 4 singles action.

Junior Meg Moran (Concord, N.H.) was defeated in No. 1 singles action by Paulina Rys, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Ivette Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) was handed a loss by Lauren Bonanno, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Senior Meredith Bacon (Hanover, N.H.) lost to Dana Postupack, 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles slot.

Freshman Megan Manahan (Waverly, Pa.) was defeated by Gabriella Devila, 6-0, 6-3. Sophomore Paige Brown (Huntington, N.Y.) also lost to Courtney Price, 6-2, 6-2.

The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 am, taking on Albany in Albany, N.Y.
