Women's Tennis Ranks Sixth in Preseason Poll

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team was picked sixth in the Patriot League preseason poll on Thursday morning. Army took the top spot in the poll with 50 points and 10 votes for first place. Bucknell came in second with 43 points and two first place votes. Holy Cross received 10 points in the poll.
The Crusaders return to the Patriot League after a five year absence. For the past five seasons, the Holy Cross women's tennis team has been independent of any conference.
In 2006, the Crusaders went 2-6 in the spring season and a 2-2 fall season. In their first two matches of the fall season, Holy Cross defeated Hartford and Merrimack, going 2-0 in September.
The Holy Cross women's tennis team begins their season on Saturday, February 10 at 7:00 pm when they take on Fairfield at the Stamford Indoor Tennis Facility in Stamford, Conn. Matches are set to begin at 7:00 pm.
