Holy Cross Women's Tennis Defeats Hartford, 6-1

Worcester, Mass.- The Holy Cross women's tennis played host to Hartford on Wednesday afternoon in its final home match of the 2007-2008 season. In this non-conference match, the Crusaders defeated Hartford 6-1 improving to 6-6 overall on the year.

Meg Moran (Concord, N.H.) won both of her matches on the day, winning at No. 1 doubles 8-2 with partner Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) and winning at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-3. Also going undefeated were Hailee Lange (Miami, Fla.) and Chase Fitzsimmons (Brielle, N.J.), who teamed up at No. 2 doubles to win 8-5. Lange also defeated her opponent at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0, while Fitzsimmons won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.

The Crusaders travel to West Point, N.Y. to play in day one of the Patriot League Tourney on April 18. Holy Cross will face Lehigh in the quarterfinals beginning at 11:00 a.m.
