Women's Tennis Shut Out By Sacred Heart, 7-0

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team was unable to overcome a strong effort by Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders dropped all six singles matches and three doubles matches to fall 7-0 to the Pioneers.

Senior Carrie Simmons (Raynham, Mass.) battled to the closest two set loss of the day, falling 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Amy Garrity (Poughkepsie, N.Y.) also played solid but lost 6-4, 6-1.

In third doubles sophomore Katie Guarino (Reading, Mass.) and junior Ginienne Santoro (Guilford, Conn.) could not overcome Sacred Heart in the closest match of the day as they fell 8-6.

The Holy Cross women will play again on Saturday, March 25 when they take on American in West Point, N.Y. on the Army campus. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
