Marist Defeats Holy Cross, 5-2

Paxton, Mass. - Sophomore Kerry Trimmer and freshman Meg Moran won singles matches for Holy Cross, but it was not enough as the Crusaders' women's tennis team was defeated by Marist College, 5-2 Sunday afternoon.

Trimmer won the number one singles match in three sets (0-6, 6-4, 10-5), while Moran made easy work of her opponent (6-2, 6-0). Moran also teammed with sophomore Meredith Bacon to win the number three doubles match, 8-6.

The Crusaders are now 1-2 on the season. Holy Cross takes on Sacred Heart, Saturday, February 26 in Milford, Conn. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.
