Holy Cross Downs Fairfield, 4-3

New Haven, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team defeated Fairfield, 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Connecticut. Junior Carrie Simmons (Raynham, Mass.) won the no.2 singles match, 0-6, 6-0, 10-3, and freshmen Amy Garrity (Poughkepsie, N.Y.) and Margaret Moran (Concord, N.H.) took home the four and five singles matches. In doubles play, Simmons and sophomore Kerry Trimmer won the no.1 doubles match, 8-5, while Moran and sophomore Meredith Bacon took the no.3 match, 8-6.
