Women's Tennis Drops Match To Fairfield

MILFORD, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team fell to Fairfield University on Saturday afternoon, 7-0. The Crusaders were unable to follow up a victory over the Stags for fourth place in the fall New England Championships.

Fairfield swept all six singles matchups and also won every doubles match en route to the win.

Holy Cross pushed two of the singles matches to three sets on the afternoon. At fourth singles, sophomore Katie Guarino (Reading, Mass.) fell to Alexis Accomando 6-2, 3-6, 10-1. Junior Ginienne Santoro (Guilford, Conn.) won the first set but dropped the match to Cristin Zaccareo 4-6, 7-5, 10-1.

The Crusader women will be back in action on Saturday, February 18 at 6:00 p.m. when they take on Assumption at the Paxton Sports Center in Paxston, Mass.
