Crusaders Prepare For Patriot League Tournament

  • The Holy Cross women's tennis team (6-8, 0-3 Patriot League) concluded its regular season last weekend with a victory over Simmons on Saturday, April 12 in Worcester, Mass. The No. 9 Crusaders will take on eighth-seeded Lafayette in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament on Thursday, April 17 in Lewisburg, Pa at 3:00 p.m. The winner will advance to take on No. 1 seed Boston University in the quarterfinal round. The Leopards defeated the Crusaders earlier this season on March 22 by a score of 6-1 in West Point, N.Y.
  • Junior Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.), freshman Virginia Peck-Philips (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), senior Molly Montgomery (Winnetka, Ill.), and sophomores Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) each recorded victories in their singles matches against Simmons.
  • Stathis and Peck-Philips paired together in the No. 1 doubles match and beat their opponents by a score of 8-6. Carroll and Montgomery defeated their No. 2 doubles opponent by a score of 8-3, while seniors Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) and Katie McKenna (Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded their last home Crusader victory by a score of 8-3.
