Holy Cross To Compete In Three Events This Week

Schedule: Friday, Sept. 13 vs. Siena, Worcester, Mass., 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 14 at Salve Regina Doubles Invitational, Newport, R.I., 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, Sept 15 vs. Connecticut College, Worcester, Mass., 1:00 p.m.
- The Holy Cross women's tennis team will participate in three events this week. On Friday, Sept. 13, the Crusaders will host Siena at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 14, Holy Cross will compete in the Salve Regina Doubles Invitational in Newport, R.I., while on Sunday, Sept. 15, the team will host Connecticut College in Worcester, Mass at 1:00 p.m.
- Last week, the Crusaders dropped their first match of the season, 6-1, to Bryant on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. Holy Cross' record now stands at 0-1.
- Holy Cross gained its lone point of the match in No. 6 singles, as freshman Marielle Newell (St. Louis, Mo.) won her first career match, 6-2, 6-3. Holy Cross No. 1 singles player, freshman Virginia Peck-Philips (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) lost her first career match 6-3, 6-1, while junior Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) lost her No. 2 singles tilt, 6-1, 6-3.
