WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 10-16. Carroll posted a 1-0 record in singles play and a 3-1 mark in doubles action last week for the Holy Cross women's tennis team.
During Wednesday's season opening 6-1 victory over Assumption. Carroll defeated Erica Micciche 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. She also teamed with junior Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) to earn an 8-6 victory over Marie Black and Cassandra Waung at No. 1 doubles. Then at the Salve Regina Doubles Invitational on Saturday, Carroll once again teamup up with Welch to go 2-1 and win the consolation title in the flight A doubles competition.
The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, Sept. 23, when they take part in the Bryant Invitational.
