Women's Tennis Suffers 7-0 Defeat To Lafayette
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team suffered its second straight 7-0 loss at the hands of Lafayette in the day's second match of Patriot League action at the Lichtenberg Tennis Courts. With the final tally, the Crusaders go to a record of 0-8 (0-2 PL) on the season while the Leopards improve to a record of 2-3 (1-1 PL).
The No. 2 doubles team of junior Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) was the only team to win a match, topping Lafayette's duo of Katherine Charchalis and Emily Deluca. Freshman Molly Montgomery (Winnetka, Ill.) and junior Emily Marr (Jefferson, Mass.) took their No. 1 doubles match to extra sets, but fell 9-7. Lafayette prevailed in all singles matches to earn the full sweep.
Holy Cross finishes conference action against Lehigh on Sunday, March 27. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y.
