Women's Tennis Falls, 7-0, In First Action Of Spring Against Sacred Heart

NEW HAVEN, Conn. –The Holy Cross women's tennis team was unable to score a point in its first match of the spring, falling 7-0 against Sacred Heart at the Yale Tennis Courts. With the final tally, the Crusaders go to a record of 0-6 on the overall season while the Pioneers improve to a record of 4-1 on the season.

Sacred Heart swept all doubles matches, as junior Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) won six sets, but fell 8-6 in the No. 2 spot. The Pioneers swept all singles matches as well, topping every Crusader in straight sets. 

Holy Cross returns to action on March 19, hosting locally-based Clark for a 3:30 p.m. match. All matches will be played on the Holy Cross Tennis Courts.
