Crusaders Set To Play Final Match Of The Fall

Schedule: Saturday, Oct. 23 vs. Hartford, Worcester, Mass., 3:00 p.m.
- The Holy Cross women's tennis team will play in its final match of the fall when they host Hartford on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 3:00 p.m. The men's team will also play Hartford at the exact same time at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts in Worcester, Mass. The match was rescheduled from the original Oct. 6 date.
- The Crusaders look to end their fall slate on a strong note, as they aim for their first win. The Hawks come to Worcester with a 0-2 record in dual match play, having lost to Providence last on Oct. 13. Holy Cross won both meetings last year, including a 5-2 victory last fall and currently own a six-game win streak against the Hawks, dating back to the 2004 fall season.
- Junior Emily Marr (Jefferson, Mass.) is one of two players on the current roster to post a win against the Hawks. Last fall, Marr took a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set victory at No. 3 singles. She also won in straight sets in the spring, recording a 6-2, 6-0 final tally. Junior Lauren Evans (Visalia, Calif.), who is currently studying abroad, took a win at No. 6 singles, 8-3.
- Currently, the Holy Cross team has won two singles matches in dual play, two by Marr. Doubles is winless in all matches, and will look to break into the wins column. Last spring, Holy Cross won the doubles point against the Hawks as Marr won with junior Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.) at No. 2 doubles and junior Emma Rudnik (Lake Bluff, Ill.) won with Evans at No. 3
