Women's Tennis Looks For Two Dual-Match Victories

  • The Holy Cross women's tennis team will look to pick up two wins against Massachusetts and Bowdoin this upcoming week. The squad will first travel to Amherst, Mass. to take on the Minutewomen on Thursday, Sept. 30 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Crusaders will then return home for a Sunday afternoon contest against Bowdoin, beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts  
  • The Minutewomen open up their dual-match slate against Holy Cross on Thursday. They most recently participated in the shared Eastern Championship this past weekend. They had success at the event, as Julia Comas won the Flight B singles championship and Jessica Podlofsky won the Flight D singles title.
  • Holy Cross participated in the Eastern Championship for the first time in program history this past weekend. Freshman Mary McAuliffe (Peru, N.Y.) made it the farthest in a singles consolation bracket, making it to the semifinals. She is now 1-4 in singles play this season.
  • Junior Emily Marr (Jefferson, Mass.) made it out of the first round in her singles bracket as well. Marr competed in the B bracket, winning her first match against Seton Hall's Karina Cordero-Martinez, 6-4, 6-1, before bowing out. She is now 3-3 in all singles action so far this season, marking the most wins on the team.
