Women's Tennis Jump Starts Season After Spring Break

  • The Holy Cross women's tennis team hopes to move forward with their spring season after two weeks off from competition where they will compete in their first home match on the Holy Cross tennis courts against Albany on Mar. 13. This is the third year the Crusaders will play the Great Dane's and after falling 7-0 two years in a row, the Crusaders hope to bounce back with a win. 
  • The Holy Cross women's tennis team kicked off the spring season with a match against Sacred Heart on Saturday, Mar. 13 at Yale's Tennis Complex in New Haven, Conn.  The teams have competed in the last five spring seasons against the Pioneers. The Crusader's battled for the sixth season with the hopes of a win but fell 7-0.
  • The only win of the match against the Pioneers was the No. 3 doubles team of senior Kathryn Wilkie (Oak Brook, Ill.) and senior Ivette Konopka Shelton, Conn.). The two worked together for an 8-2 win against the Pioneers. 
  • Sophomore Emily Marr (Worcester, Mass.) was the only Holy Cross player at No. 3 singles to compete in a marathon three set match where she came back from a 6-2 loss in the first set to win the second set 7-6 and finally dropping the match with a 7-3 loss in the third set.
