Women's Tennis Earns A League-Best Eight On Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. - Eight members of the Holy Cross women's tennis team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including senior Melanie Bunke (Glastonbury, Conn.), junior Ivette Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) and junior Kristen Meahl (Falmouth, Maine) who each made the Academic Honor Roll for the third straight time. Holy Cross' eight selections were the most in the league.
The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were senior Paige Brown (Huntington, N.Y.), junior Kathryn Wilkie (Oak Brook, Ill.), freshman Carolyn Chandley (Worcester, Mass.), freshman Emily Marr (Jefferson, Mass.) and freshman Emma Rudnik (Lake Bluff, Ill.).
A total of 35 student-athletes from women's tennis teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League sponsored winter or spring championship sports.
