WORCESTER, Mass. - Twelve members of the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team have been selected to the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including senior Erica Archer (Schenectady, N.Y.) who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester. Archer was one of just nine members of the women's swimming and diving honor roll to record a 4.0. Holy Cross' 12 selections were tied for the third most in the league.
The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were seniors Juliette Cormier (Morrisville, Vt.), Andrea Doherty (Needham, Mass.) and Rachel Quaden (Chelmsford, Mass.); juniors Maddie Alanis (La Jolla, Calif.), Caitlin Duggan (Norwood, Mass.) and Mary-Elizabeth Maher (Milford, Mass.); sophomores Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.), Rachael Martinez (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Stephanie Opolski (Haverhill, Mass.); and freshmen Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) and Chelsea Dalphond (Dracut, Mass.).
A total of 100 student-athletes from women's swimming and diving teams around the league were named to the honor roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the 16 League-sponsored winter or spring championship sports.
