CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Holy Cross senior Emily Ferris (Rockville Center, N.Y.) was named to the Patriot League Class of 2006 Swimming and Diving Top-10, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
The Top-10 is compiled by taking the total number of points the student-athlete earned in individual events at the Patriot League Championships during their career. Ferris was ranked eighth on the list of seniors with 70 career championships points.
In this year's Patriot League Championships, the senior was the best overall Crusader swimming over three days. Ferris claimed 10th place overall in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.44. Last season, she finished 10th in the 200-yard backstroke and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke.
Ferris served as a captain this season for Holy Cross and still holds all three school backstroke records: 50-yard backstroke (28.32), 100-yard backstroke (59.71), and 200-yard backstroke (2:08.36). All three records were set at the 2003 Patriot League Championships during her freshman year along with the fourth school record she currently holds in the 50-yard butterfly with at time of 27.37.
