WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 19-25. Carrazza won three individual events and was a member of four winning relay teams, as the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team claimed first place at the 2009 Worcester City Championship.
During the Worcester City Championship, Carrazza set a new meet record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.33. She also claimed first place in both the 50-yard freestyle (26.11) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:59.18).
In the relay events, Carrazza swam the anchor leg on the victorious 200-yard medley relay team (1:57.71) and 400-yard medley relay team (4:11.33). She also swam the second leg on the 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:44.86) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:47.86), for two more first place finishes.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, January 31, when they travel to Providence for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
