Women's Swimming Set To Compete Against Central Conn. & Vermont

  • The Crusaders participated in the fifth Annual St. Croix Dolphins one mile Sea Swim on Sunday Jan. 4th in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. Top finishers for Holy Cross in the 18-25 division included freshman Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) in fourth place with a time of 24:16 and freshman Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.) in seventh place with a time of 25:07.

  • Holy Cross kicks off the second half of the 2008-2009 season when it takes on Vermont and Central Connecticut on Sunday, Jan. 11, in Worcester, Mass. at the Hart Center.

  • Last season the Crusaders fell to Vermont, 225-74, and to Central Connecticut, 202-97.

  • Against Vermont and Central Connecticut, junior Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.) led Holy Cross with a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.27 and second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:32.82. Junior Rachael Martinez (Chelmsford, Mass.) took second place in the three meter diving competition with a score of 213.80.
