BOSTON, Mass. - Junior Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.) led the Crusaders with two top 16 finishes as the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team competed in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Nov. 21-Sunday, Nov. 23.
The Crusaders had a weekend of season best times. In the 200 free relay, swam by junior Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.), freshman Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.), sophomore Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) and freshman Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.), the Crusaders finished in a season-best time of 1:44.16. The 400 free relay, Gousman, Beaudouin, O'Shea and Carrazza, also finished with a season best time of 3:43.29. Carter, Gousman, O'Shea and Carrazza led the 200 yard medley relay to a season-best finish of 1:54.32.
Gousman led the Crusaders with two individual top 16 finishes. In the 100 yard breast stroke Gousman finished in eighth place with a time of 1:07.99 and 14th place in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:28.97. O'Shea touched the wall in 13th place with a career-best time of 2:12.68 in the 200 yard butterfly and Beaudouin finished in 12th place in the 200 yard backstroke in a career-best 2:10.89. Carrazza placed 24th in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.37.
Holy Cross returns to the pool on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6 at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I.
