Boston, Mass. - The Crusaders traveled to Boston, Mass. to compete in the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University. The women finished the three day meet out in ninth place with out of ten teams with 75 points, while the men finished the weekend out in fifth place out of five teams with 139 points. Northeastern won the women's meet with 688 points and UMass won the men's meet with 1216 points.
Sophomore Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) was the highest placing Crusader on the weekend, taking 15th in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.13 earning two points.
The women competed well in the relays taking 12th in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:41.03 gaining ten points. On the relay team was Senior Andrea Doherty (Needham, Mass), Senior Erica Archer (Schenectady, N.Y.), Sophomore Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.) and Carrazza. This same group of women took 16th in the 800 yard free relay with a time of 8:08.41 earning two more points.
The men would pull a ninth place finish in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:31.22 earning 18 points. Apart of this team was senior Chris Smith (West Haven, Conn.), sophomore Aaron Brosnan (Westford, Mass.), sophomore Michael Dougher (Amhers, N.Y.) and junior David Drumond (Swampscott, Mass.). Dougher would also take a 17th place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.71.
The Crusaders will compete again Sunday, January 13th home against UVM and CCSU starting at 1p.m.
