Worcester, Mass. - The Crusader women's swimming and diving team hosted Springfield on Wednesday night in its second meet of the year. Holy Cross started out very strong leading Springfield in events up until event 21, the three meter diving, when the Pride pulled in front to eventually earn a 127-116 victory. The Crusaders did take six events in the meet including the 400yd medley relay, 200yd freestyle, 200yd individual medley, 200yd butterfly, 100yd freestyle, and 400yd free relay.
Sophomore Alisha Carrazza would come up big as she finished in first place in three events - the 200yd free with a time of 2:02.47, the 100yd free with a time of 55.68, and the anchor of the 400yd free relay team that had a winning time of 3:48.34. Her teammate Rachel Quaden would take first in the 200yd butterfly with a time of 2:18.46 which coach Barry Parenteau would call the gutsiest race of the day. Erica Archer put in a huge performance in the 400yd medley relay as the anchor coming from behind for the win with a team time of 4:10.02.
You can catch the Crusaders in their next meet which they will be hosting on Friday, November 2, against Army at 3:00 p.m.
