Crusaders Continue Competition At League Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.) finished 10th in the 100 breast and broke her own school record as the Holy Cross men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued competition at the Patriot League Championships held at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium Friday night. The men's and women's teams wrapped up day two of the Championships in eighth place. The men currently have 87 points, while the women have 104. For the men, Navy leads with 682 points, while for the women Colgate leads with 537 points.

Gousman took 10th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.47, breaking the her own Holy Cross school record. Gousman then teamed up with sophomore Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.), freshman Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) and junior Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) to take eighth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.52. Gousman, Carrazza and O'Shea, along with freshman Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.) also took eighth place in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:55.16.

The men's team was led by senior Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.), junior Brian Livingston (Auburn, Wash.), sophomore Nick Larsen (Whitman, Mass.) and senior Rob Acker (Ames, Iowa) with a seventh place finish in the 200 medley with a time of 1:40.98. Acker then teamed up with junior Joseph McShane (Chatham, N.J.), senior David Drummond (Swampscott, Mass.) and senior Ian MacLaren (Cortez, Colo.) to take seventh place in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:14.08.

The Crusaders wrap up competition at the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, Feb. 21 starting at 10:30 a.m.
