LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Mary Kate Schulte (Des Moines, Iowa), junior Kelsey Poremba (Bedford, N.H.) and senior Clare Reidy (Northford, Conn.) set new personal best marks in the 100 freestyle as the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team finished seventh at the 2013 Patriot League Championship. Schulte touched the wall at 54.94 while Poremba finished in 56.13 and Reidy clocked in at 57.46.
The 400 freestyle relay team consisting of senior Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine), sophomore Kristie Coleman (Brooklyn, N.Y.), senior Laura Webber (Hampden, Mass.) and Schulte finished seventh with a time of 3:39.57, earning 24 team points.
Sophomore Anna Villani (Hanover, Mass.) finished 16th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.53, after touching the wall in 2:20.60 in the preliminary heat. Fellow classmate Sloane Burns (Tucson, Ariz.) finished behind Villani in 17th place. On the diving side, sophomore Alicia LiCalzi (New Canaan, Conn.) let the Crusaders in the three-meter with a score of 148.65.
Navy won the team championship with 836 points. Bucknell finished second with 670 points, while Colgate took third with 655 points. Army (542), Lehigh (312), Lafayette (185), Holy Cross (120) and American (117) rounded out the field.
The 2013 women's swimming and diving team has come to an end.
