Women's Swimming & Diving Falls To Bryant, 199-95
WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior diver Katie Luther (Omaha, Neb.) and sophomore diver Alicia LiCalzi (New Canaan, Conn.) each recorded first place finishes to lead the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team as the Crusaders were downed by Bryant on Saturday afternoon by a score of 199-95 at the Hart Center. Luther placed first in the one-meter dive with a score of 182.16 while LiCalzi took first in the three-meter dive, totaling 165.07 points. Luther also finished second in the three-meter dive with a score of 157.05.
Sophomore Mary Kate Schulte (Des Moines, Iowa) recorded a pair of third place finishes in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. She touched the wall in 26.37 seconds in the 50 and 58.66 seconds in the 100. Senior Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) also added a top-three finish, taking third in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 30.61 seconds.
The 200 freestyle relay team comprised of junior Kelsey Poremba (Bedford, N.H.), sophomore Kristie Coleman (Brooklyn, N.Y.), senior Laura Webber (Hampden, Mass.) and Schulte finished third with a time of 1:47.11 and the 400 medley relay team of freshman Claire O'Brien (Bedford, N.Y.), senior Natalie Livingston (Auburn, Wash.), Kristen Desrosiers and Schulte finished with a time of 4:23.11 in third place.
Prior to the start of their final meet at the Hart Center, Kristen Desrosiers, Livingston, Webber and fellow seniors Katelyn Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) and Claire Reidy (Northford, Conn.) were honored by head coach Barry Parenteau, diving coach Wilson Aybar and assistant coach Ian Hennessey in a brief ceremony for their hard work and dedication to the women's swimming and diving program over the past four years.
