Women's Swimming Competes In Assumption Pentathlon
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's swim team raced in the Assumption Pentathlon on Saturday afternoon at the Plourde Recreation Center. Swimmers raced in five 100 yard races including the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and individual medley. Senior Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) earned the top finish for the Crusaders placing fifth overall with a time of 5:33.30.
Senior Katelyn Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) finished in 10th place with a time of 5:39.71 while sophomore Katherine Shreve (Sturbridge, Mass.) took 15th with an overall time of 5:45.32. Fellow classmate Kristie Coleman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the top-20 finishers for Holy Cross with a time of 5:55.38.
Freshman Shannon Quinn (Garden City, N.Y.) was the top rookie finisher for the Crusaders with a time of 6:10.43. The Crusaders also came in second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:59.55 and earned a pair of third place finishes in the 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay with times of 1:47.02 and 2:02.65, respectively
The women's swimming and diving team returns to pool for its first home meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 13, hosting Fairfield in a dual meet at 1:00 p.m.
