Women's Swimming And Diving Selected Eighth In Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team was selected to finish eighth in the 2012-2013 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Last season's Patriot League champion, Navy, was selected to finish first with 95 points and 11 first place votes. The Mids set a championship record with 933.5 points for their league-best 11th Patriot League title last season.

Last year's runner-up, Colgate, was selected to finish second with 88 points and four first place votes, while Bucknell landed third with 74 points and one first place vote. Army and Lehigh landed fourth and fifth with 58 and 54 points, respectively, and American just edged out Lafayette for the sixth spot with 33 points compared to the Leopards 32. The Crusaders rounded out the preseason poll with 14 points.

Holy Cross will kick off the 2012-2013 season on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1:00 p.m. when it hosts Fairfield in a dual meet at the Hart Center.
