Crusaders Continue Action At Patriot League Championship
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team took part in the second day of racing at the Patriot League Championship at the Naval Academy competing in five individual swimming events and one diving event. Junior Natalie Livingston (Auburn, Wash.) was the top finisher for the Crusaders taking 19th place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.60.
Juniors Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) and Katelyn Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) and senior Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) each finished in 20th place in their respective events. Kristen Desrosiers finished with a time of 4:41.99 in the 400 yard IM, Katelyn Desrosiers finished behind Livingston at 1:11.03 in the 100 yard breaststroke and O'Shea was just under two seconds away from breaking a school record in the 100 yard freestyle finishing at 1:00.40. Senior Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.) was the top finisher for the Crusaders in 100 yard backstroke finishing at 1:02.09 and junior Gina Mannix (Larchmont, N.Y.) led the way in the 200 yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:59.26.
Sophomore Katie Luther (Omaha, Neb.) led the way for the Crusaders on the diving side finishing 16th in the one-meter dive with a score of 144.60. In the relay, the 800 yard freestyle team consisting of Mannix, Beaudouin, O'Shea and Kristen Desrosiers finished seventh with a time of 7:54.54.
Host Navy remains atop the scoreboard after two days of competition with a team total of 610 points. The final day of the Patriot League Championship takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 18, with the preliminary heats beginning at 10:00 a.m.
