Crusaders Set For Harold Anderson Invitational This Weekend

  • The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team (0-4 overall, 0-1 Patriot League) returns to action at the Harold Anderson Invitational on Dec. 3-4, hosted by Rhode Island at the Tootell Aquatics Center in Kingston, R.I.
  • Season-best times and top finishes led Holy Cross to a second place finish out of five teams at the 2009 Harold Anderson Invitational. URI claimed the team title with 906 points, while Holy Cross finished second with 722. Senior Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) finished first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.69, while junior Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:14.56.
  • Sophomore Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) ranks 14th in the Patriot League in the 500 free with a time of 5:12.44, while she ranks 19th in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:59.05 and 12th in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.00. Carter ranks 16th in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.31, 17th in the 200 back with a time of 2:11.58 and 18th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.38. Sophomore Katelyn Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) is 19th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.14, 14th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:31.12, 19th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.54 and 22nd in the 400 IM with a time of 4:52.32. O'Shea's season-best time of 2:11.77 in the 200 fly ranks 17th. 
  • The Harold Anderson Invitational will be Holy Cross' last competition of the 2010 portion of the season. The Crusaders will take a break from competition until Jan. 21 when they host the Worcester City Championship at the Hart Center.
