Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Weekend At Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Brian Power (Southport, Conn.) placed 15th in the 200 breaststroke to lead the Holy Cross men's and women's swimming and diving teams at the Terrier Invitational Sunday afternoon. Boston University won both the men's and women's team competition, while Holy Cross finished sixth in the men's competition and eighth in the women's.

Power was Holy Cross' top individual finisher, placing 15th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.89. The Crusaders also recorded top finishes in the relay events. In the 200 free relay, the women's team of sophomore Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine), sophomore Katelyn Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine), junior Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) and junior Maggie Beaudouin (Madison, N.J.) placed 12th with a time of 1:45.18. The men's team of freshman Jan Yburan (Livingston, N.J.), sophomore Brian Lyons (Greenwich, Conn.), Power and sophomore John Vatalaro (Strongsville, Ohio) placed 11th with a time of 1:32.77.   

In the 400 medley relay, the women's team of Kristen Desrosiers, Katelyn Desrosiers, O'Shea and Beaudouin finished 12th with a time of 4:07.28, while the men's team of Yburan, Power, senior Sean Hager (Westfield, N.J.) and Lyons placed 11th with a time of 3:48.18. In the 200 medley relay, the women's team of Kristen Desrosiers, Katelyn Desrosiers, senior Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) and Beaudouin placed 15th with a time of 1:54.98, while the men's team of Yburan, Power, senior Aidan McGrath (Quincy, Mass.) and Vatalaro placed 11th with a time of 1:42.83.  

Holy Cross' top finish of the day came in the 800 free relay. The men's team of Yburan, Power, freshman Kevin O'Connor (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Lyons placed ninth with a time of 7:36.75. The women's relay team of Beaudouin, Katelyn Desrosiers, O'Shea and Kristen Desrosiers placed 14th with a time of 8:02.37. In the 400 free relay, Yburan, Lyons, Vatalaro and freshman Tim Liddy (Garden City, N.Y.) placed 11th with a time of 3:24.34. The women's team of Kristen Desrosiers, Beaudouin, sophomore Gina Mannix (Larchmont, N.Y.) and Carter finished 15th with a time of 3:40.99.     

Holy Cross returns to action after the Thanksgiving holiday at the Harold Anderson Invitational on Dec. 3-4.
